The Music Drug

Is it possible to be addicted to music?
The definition of ADDICTION (according to dictionary.com) is:
–noun
the state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming, as narcotics, to such an extent that its cessation causes severe trauma

When we get sick, the doctor will provide the medicine; however if you're going through a tough time one would turn to music to cope with feeling, much like a drug. We hear of music being used as therapy, to ease stress and to calm nerves; while on the other hand we need music to excite us, to boost the adrenaline, to be our ecstasy.
Can it harm us?
It is said that the soft and soothing sounds of classical music during infancy can stimulate the child's mind, but what would happen if it were replaced with the intensity of a rock song?
HOW WOULD THE WORLD BE THEN?
